Highpoint Shopping Centre’s hosts virtual school holiday masterclass series

Highpoint delivers school holiday fun to people's homes

Back by popular demand, Highpoint Shopping Centre’s virtual masterclass series Highpoint Academy will once again provide fun and interactive food, science, craft and dance activities for children during the school holidays – from the comfort of their homes via Highpoint’s Instagram TV channel.

Created for children aged between five to 12 years old, the two-week masterclass series will include four easy-to-follow masterclass videos released each Monday and Thursday with their matching downloadable worksheets and instructional guides on Highpoint’s website. All utensils required will easily be found in the home or at the local supermarket.

In addition to video masterclasses, free take-home activity packs will be available for collection from the Highpoint Academy stand located in Highpoint’s Fresh Food Precinct. The packs will rotate every couple of days featuring fun additions to the online videos to keep children entertained.

“We’re delighted to welcome back season two of our much loved digital school holiday program; Highpoint Academy. A blend of virtual masterclasses designed to fire up creativity, imagination, and hands-on play are complimented by collectable activity packs that families can pick up while shopping for essentials. It’s convenient for parents, and ensures children can still experience the magic of school holidays”, said Rachel Duggan, GPT Regional General Manager.

The program gives an opportunity for customers to connect with Highpoint during lockdown

This year’s masterclass series will welcome new and old hosts including baking stars Alice Bennet (@Misstrixiedrinkstea) and Alisha Henderson (@sweetbakes), scientist and founder of SciencePlay Kids, Dr Loz, mother and daughter artists Darcy and Brodie from See Make Play and local Hip-hop king Jack May.

Kids will enter the magical world of science from home with Dr. Loz, as she transforms everyday household items such as the milk in the fridge to a sustainable exciting experiment. All masterclasses, downloadable activities and take-home packs from Highpoint Academy are free for the community to enjoy.
