Westfield Chermside’s $355-million redevelopment was successfully completed with the opening of second-stage works which included a dining, entertainment and lifestyle precinct.

The resort-style precinct is located in a landscaped outdoor setting adjacent to the fashion galleria that formed the project’s first stage which launched in April this year. Restaurant retailers in the new precinct include Brisbane’s first Betty’s Burgers, Tapworks Bar & Grill, Daniel Ridgeway’s BiN 931, Hermosa by Olé, and Motto Motto sitting alongside Zeus Street Greek, Gelatissimo and San Churro, to name a few.

Scentre Group CEO Peter Allen said: “This opening marks the delivery of the major project in our redevelopment pipeline for this year. Westfield Chermside is now the biggest centre in our portfolio, with the most comprehensive retail, lifestyle and leisure offer in Queensland. The addition of key international and domestic fashion brands in the first stage launch, along with the lifestyle offer opening here today is providing local customers with a curated retail mix that is ideally suited to their tastes.”

In addition to the opening of a new LA-inspired fitness and wellness studio TotalFusion, the centre’s lifestyle and entertainment offer will be completed by a unique new education-based childcare operator Genius, whose offer will include occasional childcare, allowing customers to shop while their children are cared for.

In September the lifestyle mix will be expanded with the opening of the Kingpin entertainment complex. Westfield Chermside has increased by approximately 33,000m2 to 155,000m2 in size, with a total 95 new retailers on completion of all works.
