Mainbrace completes $200 million heritage refurbishment of David Jones Sydney

Mainbrace recently completed the iconic David Jones Elizabeth Street project

There are some projects that will forever leave their mark on a business and the iconic David Jones Elizabeth Street is one for Mainbrace. Work on this major $200 million heritage refurbishment in Sydney’s CBD took more than two years to complete. Mainbrace recently handed over the site ready to trade for another hundred years.

Below is a short video capturing the journey Mainbrace Constructions took to deliver David Jones’ vision to build the greatest department store in the southern hemisphere:

Mainbrace is well known for its expertise in operating safely in live, busy environments. Keeping this store open for trade throughout the two-year journey is a testament to the team’s diligence and, importantly, their understanding of retail. During the 770+ days on site, the team completed more than 5,000 site inductions, which shows just how many people were involved in delivering this 11-level project.

Mainbrace is extremely proud of the high-quality finish that the whole team has delivered. It is a true reflection of their retail expertise, collaborative approach and easy to deal with culture they bring to each and every project.
