The Glen’s new food gallery

The Glen's new food gallery

The Glen in Melbourne’s south-east opens its new food gallery today, Wednesday 28 March.

Designed to capitalise on views towards the Dandenong Ranges with floor-to-ceiling windows, the 2,280m2+ food gallery is the second stage in The Glen’s $460-million redevelopment.

Named ‘gallery’ for both its picturesque aspect and the careful curation of unique food experiences, this new precinct will feature 15 casual dining restaurants, many first to the area, and seat more than 850 people.

Hitting The Glen’s food gallery will be headline food talent including:
· HuxtaGO – Huxtaburger’s first-of-its-kind new food concept
· Chinta Ria Soul – renowned for its modern, hawker style Malaysian cuisine
· Capricho – whose South American chicken ranges from fiery and adventurous to smoky and aromatic and
· Omi Wagyu – Japanese-fusion restaurant and premium wagyu rice bowl specialist.

Centre Manager Richard Devlin said he was excited to bring new food to The Glen which was as diverse and vibrant as the local community.

“Glen Waverley has an exciting and constantly changing food culture so we are thrilled to now be part of its evolution with the launch of The Glen’s new food gallery.”

Devlin said the arrival of The Glen’s new food gallery followed the opening late last year of the centre’s fresh food market hall which continued to enjoy strong crowds and featured 60 boutique food retailers and specialty stores, together with majors Aldi, Coles and Woolworths on the lower ground level.

Supporting the opening will be activities for customers and the community to excite and captivate in the new surroundings. “Eats & Beats” will see a program of acoustic soloists, singer-songwriters and instrumentalists set up in the new food gallery and bring visitors the ultimate in laid-back lunchtime tunes and easy-listening evenings.

The staged roll-out of the three-year $460 million redevelopment is bringing to life ‘The New Glen’ – which aims to become a local lifestyle and community destination where retail, dining and entertainment will deliver a premium customer experience.
