Dexus has progressed the masterplanning of Carillon City with a Development Application (DA) submitted to the City of Perth that will reposition the centre into a vibrant retail, dining and entertainment destination in the heart of the Perth CBD.
Carillon City is owned by Dexus Wholesale Property Fund (DWPF) and the centre is managed by Dexus.
The proposed development of Carillon City will deliver approximately 14,800 square metres of retail space that will span across four levels.
Peter Feros, Head of Retail Development and Asset Management, Dexus said: “The transformation of Carillon City will deliver to the Perth CBD a modern, connected retail and leisure experience to further complement the investment that’s underway across the city centre.”
Peter added, “Carillon City has proudly been part of the Perth retail landscape since 1970 and the proposed transformation will see the retail destination cement its position into the future.”
The planned retail mix will showcase destinational and unique brands along with an array of quality casual dining experiences.
Included in the proposed offer is a new state-of-the-art movie cinema complex which will attract local CBD workers, Perth residents and tourists into the city centre.
The planned introduction of a nine screen, 800 capacity HOYTS cinema complex will feature powered recliner seats in every auditorium, ready for you to sink into and bring an all new meaning to your standard trip to the cinema. Combined with the biggest and best sound with two Xtremescreen auditoriums complete with Dolby Atmos and the ultimate premium dine-in cinema experience HOYTS LUX, HOYTS Carillon City is setting itself up to be a complete entertainment destination.
Of the latest addition to the HOYTS portfolio, Damian Keogh, CEO of The HOYTS Group said, “Carillon City is quite a nostalgic site for us with HOYTS first there between 1970 and 1990 so it’s good to be back. We’ve seen such positive feedback from our guests who are enjoying the powered recliner experience at our other cinemas and we’re excited to bring this and all that HOYTS has to offer to Carillon City. Given the central location and various experiences on offer, HOYTS will really be positioning itself as the perfect place to catch up with friends and see the latest movies the best way possible.”
The project delivers amenity and connectivity improvements that support the growing high visitation into the city centre, capitalising on Carillon City’s proximity to transport interchanges and the surrounding office buildings.
The future development of Carillon City is subject to a number of approvals and is forecast to be completed by mid-2021.
